    The Community Fundraising Manager, under the supervision of the Director of Development, will identify, develop and implement strategies to attract, engage and retain fundraising support in areas of events, peer to peer and third-party fundraising programs (DIY).  This candidate should have a passion for the organization’s mission and for an advancing career in fundraising and development. This is a full-time position with an annual salary starting around $60,000. Benefits include a matching IRA, health insurance, and PTO.

    Responsibilities 

    This position will oversee the successful implementation of all Erika’s Lighthouse signature events, including but not limited to the Beacon of Hope Golf Classic, P2P fundraisers, Team Resilience (Chicago Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Paris Marathon fundraising endurance runs), Shine A Light (DIY), signature events and inclusive of student-focused initiatives.  

    Fundraising & Events (70%) 

    • Develop, implement, manage and evaluate strategies to expand Erika’s Lighthouse footprint nationally by targeting prospective sponsors and participants to events. 

    • Support the organization’s fundraising brand, communications, publicity, lead generation and more. 

    • Manage Erika’s Lighthouse fundraising online presence, including social media, website, advertising, listings and more. 

    • Oversee the execution of all fundraising events hosted by the organization and implemented by volunteers, including tertiary donor events and special opportunities. 

    • Grow the Golf Classic from $200k/year to over $350k over four years. 

    • Develop Team Resilience as an endurance-focused, team-oriented campaign, increasing it from $200k/year to over $500k over four years. 

    Engagement (30%) 

    • Support the Erika’s Lighthouse team by engaging and empowering fundraising stakeholders, including donors, students, volunteers and affiliate organizations. 

    • Recruit endurance athletes and other fundraisers to support Erika’s Lighthouse. 

    • Assist and support fundraisers to increase donations. 

    • Manage Stakeholder Engagement for key individuals and organizations that can grow the Erika’s Lighthouse footprint. 

    • Work closely with the development team to establish a full continuum of donor development. 

    Experience/Qualifications 

    • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in fundraising event management, and management of P2P campaigns from start to finish. Experience in an education-nonprofit ideal. 

    • Knowledge of technology, including website development and usage, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Drive, Canva and Microsoft Office. 

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, staff, community groups and other related agencies and stakeholders. 

    • An innovative mindset that is continuously seeking creative solutions. 

    • Ability to work strategically within a team structure as well as independently. 

    • Dependability, good time management and organizational skills, and attentiveness to detail. 

    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with an infectious enthusiasm for the mission and the ability to engage and inspire others.
