    Organization: Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley

    Description Position:  Donor Services Coordinator

    Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

    Reports To: Vice President of Advancement

    Summary: The Donor Services Coordinator will work with the Foundation staff, Board, Fund Advisors, and other constituents to successfully manage gifts received and grants provided through the established funds of the Foundation. The Donor Services Coordinator will also be responsible for managing the stewardship of these relationships and developing opportunities for increasing the potential of new relationships with the Foundation. Throughout all communications, the Donor Services Coordinator will communicate a positive image of the Foundation to build confidence and trust for the organization with stakeholders and the public. 

    Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following in addition to other duties as assigned by their supervisor. 

    Distributions

    1. Receives and responds to all grant recommendations from fund holders.
    2. Processes all grant recommendations and distributions within software system.
    3. Polls the Distribution and Executive Committees for approval of all advisory fund suggestions.
    4. Works with Foundation staff to send checks and letters to grant recipients with a copy to donors requesting grants.
    5. Provides profile reports on grantmaking patterns highlighting the trends of grantmaking of the Foundation as a whole and individual donor interests.

    Gifts

    1. Works with Foundation staff to process gifts received, acknowledgment letters, etc.
    2. Provides reports to Foundation staff on the gifts received on a regular basis, as determined by their supervisor.
    3. Provides profile reports on individual donors and trends of donations received.

    Stewardship 

    1. Works with Foundation staff to provide opportunities for donors to give feedback on the Foundation’s services.
    2. Works with the Foundation staff to recognize donors for their commitment to the Foundation. 
    3. Works with Foundation staff to plan and implement successful educational, engagement, and other stewardship activities and events for various constituents.
    4. Works with Foundation staff to maximize communication of giving options that demonstrate the benefits of philanthropy for current and prospective donors, through print materials and online mechanisms.
    5. Maintains donor and fund files in the Foundation’s software.
    6. Meets with donors to discuss their giving and grantmaking histories and options for continued giving and grantmaking.

    The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a collection of individual funds and resources given by local citizens to enhance and support the quality of life in the Fox River Valley. Foundation funds are used to provide grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships to area students.

    We are a tax-exempt public charity that allows individuals, businesses, and other non-profit organizations to establish permanent endowment and temporary funds within the confines of one large foundation.

    The Community Foundation will celebrate its 75th Anniversary in 2022 and, since its founding in 1948, has grown to more than $100 million in assets and has provided more than $75 million in grants and scholarships back to the community. The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley serves the City of Aurora, Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    1. Highly organized and creative, with extreme attention to detail
    2. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
    3. Proficient typing and computer skills; database experience; knowledge of software packages, including Microsoft Office 365
    4. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    5. Ability to adapt to the increasing demands of a growing organization
    6. Ability to work in a high-paced environment
    7. Ability to work as a team member, collaborating with and supporting other staff as needed
    8. Ability to have customer service as a top priority
    9. Prior experience in a donor-facing role
    10. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
    11. Not-for-Profit experience
    12. Bachelor’s degree preferred 

    Salary Description

    $50,000 per year
